  • The device records the electrical activity related to your heartbeat during the whole time it is worn. Once the recording period has been completed, the device is returned by mail to the analysis centre. A specialized technologist will analyze the recorded data and provide a report to a healthcare professional who will be responsible for interpreting the results. These will be communicated to you by your prescribing healthcare professional

  • The CardioSTAT test is available only under prescription. If you do not have a medical prescription for the CardioSTAT test or if you have a prescription for a Holter, you must talk to your doctor to get a prescription for a CardioSTAT test.

  • Do not apply lotion or cream on the torso. Wear clothing that facilitates access to the chest/torso (for example, a shirt).

    For an in-clinic application, bring your list of medications.

  • You can go about your usual activities including sport but avoid excessive sweating.

  • If you paid for the CardioSTAT test yourself, the cost may be covered by your private insurance. Please consult your insurer specifying that this is an "ambulatory ECG test".

  • The button in the center of the recorder allows you to report your symptoms when you experience them. Press it once when your symptoms start. Remember to note the type and duration of the symptom in the CardioSTAT journal that has been provided to you.

  • The event button in the centre of the recorder allows you to record your symptoms during recording. The button can be activated with a single, quick press. Pressing the button will not stop recording. Remember to complete information about your symptoms in the patient diary.

  • If you are travelling by plane, it is not necessary to remove your recorder.

    In the instance of going through the security checkpoint at the airport, ask for manual physical search (pat-down).

    The metal components of the CardioSTAT® recorder may activate the metal detectors. Please make sure you have your patient diary with you and show it to security staff if they ask about the recorder and the electrodes you are wearing.

  • Your recorder is activated during application and records continuously for the entire prescribed duration. Following activation, no lights will illuminate, and it is not possible to stop recording prematurely.

  • Yes. The recorder measures heart activity through the electrodes. It is normal that the central part of the recorder does not make permanent contact with the skin. This does not affect the recording.

  • If the CardioSTAT recorder becomes detached from one or both of the adhesive electrodes simply reattach it. The recording will resume without the indicator light coming on.

  • It is normal to feel a slight tingling sensation under the adhesive surfaces after application.

    If you notice irritation or if you experience a significant and persistent itch, remove the recorder and the adhesives. If in doubt, please contact your health professional.

  • Yes, you should always return the patient diary with your CardioSTAT recorder, even if you have not written down any information. Do not forget to insert your prescription if it was order online and the list of medication you are taking.

  • Your doctor will communicate your results back to you.

  • This is perfectly normal. The CardioSTAT recorder can be installed either vertically or horizontally. Both orientations provide similar results.
